Another full and fun packed day with Tony Fieldhouse & Malcom Dellbridge of the RC of Greenford. Some of the team have now mastered the tube and we all met, as planned, outside Westminster Station. As you walk out of the station there is yet another photo opportunity as you look up to Big Ben!
We all realised why the London Eye is now one of the most popular tourist destinations. The view was just spectacular, and again we were lucky with the weather.

More food and beer at a typical London Pub (all partaking in the pub's famous pies - much bigger than our four and twenty's).
Lovely walk along South Bank where they were plenty of street performers and a great atmosphere - and then onto the Tate Modern (Museum) where Roger showed is "artistic" side and explained the meaning of sculptures and paintings - they sounded good anyway!
Joined Greenford RC for more food...more beer...and of course a team presentation.
We're all off on our first vocational visits today......then the "young" members of the team (plus Kira) are off to a Rotaract Social Curry Night and then an early start tomorrow to the Walkabout Pub at Shepherds Bush to watch the mighty cats win a premiership?!?!?!?!
Quote for the day (from Tony) ".....Prince Charles is a bit of a duffer...."
Silly Award for the day - Suhanya (again) - leaving her camera behind
Special mention for Kay for posting a "comment" - well done!

Watch out for Daleks especially whilst using the London Eye. Also, the original Big Ben was destroyed by alien beings at the Battle of Canary Wharf.

Well G.F. day and very dull, windy and had a bit of rain but I think that has passed It's all happening over here.Just how BIG are those pies and how many will be consumed in one game? Hello everyone
I'M SO JEALOUS!
I did a GSE to the Netherlands back in 1996 through D9710 and it was the most memorable experience of my life. I still keep in contact with my host families and it was a cultural eye opener for all of the team. If I could do it all over again, I would. So enjoy yourselves, make the most of it and just have fun. (All the while representing Australia, your vocations and Rotary of course!)
Enjoy... look forward to reading your blog posts.

Hi Gang,
I have been keeping up with your posts - and so wish I was there with you! Your photos look amazing, you'll have to do a screen saver CD when you return :)
I'd be interested in hearing about the Rotaract Club that you visited when you come back.
Keep up the great work

My friend and I were recently talking about the prevalence of technology in our day to day lives. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.
I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as technology further innovates, the possibility of copying our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's one of the things I really wish I could experience in my lifetime.
